WhatsApp Ordering Websites for Local Shops: A Practical Guide

How local shops, bakeries, restaurants and service businesses in Tamil Nadu can use a simple website that sends orders straight to WhatsApp, without delivery-app commissions.

Your customers already order on WhatsApp

For many Tamil Nadu shops, WhatsApp is already the ordering system. Regular customers message the owner, ask what is available, send a list and arrange pickup or delivery. It works, but it gets messy: customers ask the same questions, prices are typed by hand and orders get lost in long chats.

A WhatsApp ordering website keeps the part customers like, chatting with you directly, and removes the mess.

How it works

The customer opens your website on their phone, browses your products or menu with photos and prices, picks items and quantities, and taps one button. WhatsApp opens with a neatly written order already filled in: items, quantities, total, name and delivery area. They press send, and you receive a clear order to confirm.

There is no app to install, no customer login and no commission on the order.

Who it suits

It works especially well for bakeries and sweet shops, home kitchens and tiffin services, grocery and provision stores, flower shops, pharmacies taking repeat orders, and service businesses such as AC repair or appliance service where the customer describes a problem and picks a time.

What it does not do

A WhatsApp ordering website is not a full online store. Payment usually happens on delivery, by UPI after confirmation, or through a payment link you send. Stock is not reserved automatically. For businesses with large catalogues or high order volumes, a full e-commerce store with online checkout is usually the better next step.

What to prepare

A product or menu list with prices, a few good photos, your delivery areas and charges, opening hours, and the WhatsApp number that should receive orders. If you already bill with ByteCraft POS, your item list is already organised and can be the starting point.

Real example

For Chennai Cool Point, an appliance-service business in Velachery, we built a service enquiry form that prepares the customer's request and hands it to WhatsApp, alongside call and booking options. The same idea works for product orders.

Cost

A WhatsApp ordering website is a business website with an ordering page, and website development with us starts at ₹12,000. The final quote depends on how many products you list and whether your team needs to update prices themselves. You get it in writing before we start.
